Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Opening July 1, 2016

New Gallery
Agudat Sport Beitar
Teddy Stadium (Gate 22)
Jerusalem, Israel

The summer exhibition at the New Gallery brings together the works of twenty-one female artists, employing diverse mediums, who have been invited to take part in this “girls’ party.” This gathering follows in the tradition of women’s get-togethers, marking significant life-cycle events across cultures. The ensemble of works on display in the exhibition raises issues, such as the artists’ attitude toward their femininity and their experience of it, as well as their perception of their societal role as women. This is the first in a series of exhibitions curated by the members of the artists’ workshops at the New Gallery at Teddy Stadium.
