Berlin Retreat for Jewish Artists

Mar 27- Mar 30, 2017 · Berlin, Germany

The Berlin Retreat For Jewish Artists, March 27-30, 2017 was held by Asylum Arts and ELES as part of its new project for Jewish artists DAGESH: KunstLAB ELES. The retreat brought together 30 multi-disciplinary Jewish emerging artists based in Berlin and elsewhere in Germany for a 4-day intensive retreat, to learn from local and international professionals, civic leaders, and from each other. The retreat empowered artists to explore how they can work in innovative ways to build an integrated artist community and facilitate a nuanced conversation about Berlin’s unique culture and Jewish identity. Through this intensive training, we helped create an artist community founded on reciprocity, collaboration and inclusivity to take part in building the Berlin cultural landscape.
