International Jewish Artist Retreat

March 3-5, 2013 · Garrison, NY

The first ever Asylum Arts International Jewish Artist Retreat was held at the Garrison Institute in Garrison, New York, gathering 62 emerging artists from around the world for a three-day retreat with learning, networking, and professional development. When we opened the call for artists, we had an overwhelming response, hearing their desire as Jewish artists to connect to an international network and build skills and knowledge to further their career.  We selected the strongest applicants, and were amazed by the enthusiasm and talent from the diverse group of 62 artists. By bringing together a global community of emerging Jewish artists, new art and relationships were fostered that cross national boundaries and artistic mediums.

The retreat included sessions led by industry professionals as well as collaborative work time and opportunities to network. Some of the sessions included: Financial Management for Artists, Using Marketing to Increase Your Profile, Public Speaking, How to Talk About Your Work and Yourself.
