There’s something spiritual about making art. After all, what’s more holy than the act of creation? Maybe that’s the reason that the symbol of our highest priests, the Kohanim, is a pair of open hands. No matter what our discipline, artists all use our hands in some way in our craft; to shape clay, to perform, to wield tools. That’s why I focused hands to create a portrait of the diverse and inspiring artists I met at the Asylum Arts retreat. – Liz NordÂ
