Hands by Liz Nord

There’s something spiritual about making art. After all, what’s more holy than the act of creation? Maybe that’s the reason that the symbol of our highest priests, the Kohanim, is a pair of open hands. No matter what our discipline, artists all use our hands in some way in our craft; to shape clay, to perform, to wield tools. That’s why I focused hands to create a portrait of the diverse and inspiring artists I met at the Asylum Arts retreat. – Liz Nord
