As the recipient of one of our 2015 Small Grants, Ildi Hermann will debut her latest photography show, FaceAbout, this weekend in Budapest. The images are from when she worked as a portraitist during the shooting of Son of Saul, a Hungarian feature film about one member of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz. During the filming, Hermann shot numerous images of the actors in their costumes, occupying a space in between playing their roles and acting as themselves. They offer a view into the past: the era of which the film is set, and simultaneously existing within the constructed reality of the film set.
The House of Hungarian Photographers – Mai Manó House cordially invites you and your friends to the opening of the exhibition Ildi Hermann: FaceAbout on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 6:00pm.
