We know it’s been a rough time for artists and we are trying some online offerings to learn new skills and gather digitally while we are all inside. For the first one, we are partnering with Jon Madof and Chant Records to present Music Business For Uncompromising Artists.
The free, two-part online workshop will cover the basics of online music distribution, promotion, audience development, and revenue generation, specifically geared towards musicians whose work falls outside the mainstream.
Jon Madof is a New York-based Asylum alum, guitarist, composer, and producer. He is the bandleader of the 10-piece Jewish/Afrobeat/Improv band Zion80 and the trio Rashanim, both of which have recorded extensively for John Zorn’s Tzadik Records label. In 2017, he co-founded Chant Records with bassist and producer Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz. Dedicated to ‘adventurous music across the spectrum,’ Chant Records has released over 40 albums by an international community of artists. Madof also has extensive experience in web and graphic design, crowdfunding, social media management, and web project management.
